Augustea acquires Anchor Marine Transportation, UK's largest operator of deep sea barges

2006

The newbuilt Anchor Handling Tug Carlo Magno is delivered by the Shipyard Rosetti Marino in Ravenna (Italy)

2009

The second newbuilt Anchor Handling Tug Carlo Martello is delivered by the shipyard Rosetti Marino in Ravenna (Italy)

2010

Two new sister Anchor Handling Tugs - Eraclea and Kamarina, are joining the fleet

2021

In January the semi-submersible barge AMT Commander has been delivered to “Malin Augustea UK Ltd”. The barge will be converted to serve the needs of a UK Navy program for the launch of new frigates.

2021

In March, the AHT Carlo Magno is engaged for the salvage of the Ever Given, to unblock the Suez Canal

2022

After the conversion works the CD01 (ex AMT Commander) sails to Scotland for her first activities with BAE Systems.

2025

Two semi-submersible barges, AMT Giant and AMT Goliath enter in the fleet. With this acquisition Augustea becomes one of the main players in the deep sea barges market over 400ft

1955

Salvatore Cafiero establishes Augustea to provide towage services in the Sicilian port of Augusta (Italy)

1972

Augustea extend the activities to offshore towing in the Mediterranean

1985

The offshore operations expand to semi-submersible barges

1996

In order to boost the offshore ativities Augustea Ship Management is incorporated. The company focuses on the offshore works

2004

Augustea acquires Anchor Marine Transportation Ltd, the main deep sea barges operator in UK

2011

Augustea Maritime Transportation Ltd is incorporated in Malta. The company acquires the deep sea barges from Anchor Marine Ltd

2019

Together with Fagioli SpA, Augustea incorporates AF Marine. The company builds a new barge to develop opportunities in the offshore infrastructures market

2020

The company Malin Augustea Ltd is incorporated in the UK. Augustea and Malin Abrams decide to create a Joint Venture to develop opportunities with the UK Royal Navy

2024

Together with Intergroup, Isla and Midolini, Augustea establishes Windmed7. The Joint Venture is created to promote and offer services for the development of Floating Offshore Windfarms in Italy
